Making music by creating an algorithm

In Computing this afternoon, Year 6 created musical algorithms to represent a piece of music in Scratch.

Mr Baddhan showed the children a piano made in Scratch. They looked carefully at the different colours representing different notes of a piano.

The children were given the colour sequence to the music of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars” – they then created the music in Scratch using the correct notes.

Mr Baddhan reminded the children of using repeat blocks and also to make the song play more than once.

The class were then given colour sequence of “When the Saints go Marching In” and “Row Row Your Boat”.
