Following Year 1 informing Year 6 about all the information they had learnt during their Pirates topic, Eagles were very excited to share their pirate stories today.

Prior to visiting Year 1, the children had practised reading with intonation, varied pace and expression – to help the story come alive. Not all children found this easy but they helped each other brilliantly to develop their delivery and read the stories beautifully to the younger children.

It was lovely to see how intently the Year 1 children listened to the stories and enjoyed knowing that they had helped, in some way, to develop the quality of the Year 6’s writing.
