Dear Governors,
We, the children, have heard about your plan of staring school at 7am and finishing at 5pm. We are writing to you to inform you that we cannot accept this rule being put into any school. This is because it will be difficult for children and teachers to cope with this change.
Teachers will be overworked due to long work hours and will not be able to get enough sleep. Children, on the other hand would not be able to spend enough quality time with their families. Out of school activities will have to be delayed. Breakfast and dinner schedules will be shifted or altered. Children will be tired in school which will stop them from learning enough knowledge. There will be a lot of incomplete homework coming to school since there will not be enough time to do it. Schools do not want that. We do not either. That is why we hope this letter will make the needed change.
Yours Sincerely,
The Children

Dear Governors,
I am writing to you to bring attention to your latest decision about the school days continuing longer than usual. First, our schedule at home will be changed, such as, our breakfast and to change in our required clothes. Secondly, we will not have enough sleep at 7 in the morning because then we will be tired so we can’t work harder at school. Me and the others can’t go to school for a long time.
This is not okay for us children to go to school at this time because it will probably tire us out. If this isn’t right, which it definitely isn’t, then I am asking you to decrease the time for all the children permitted to stay in school back to normal because we can’t handle too much time at school, it will be taking up too much of our spare time on the weekend when we will not be working as much and can at least relax for a while.
So I suggest you solve this problem, before it happens to every single child in the school, including me. I really think you should think about it and if your changes are good for the reputation of the school because then things such as the attendance or best class wouldn’t be so great. So, I am asking you to think back on your decisions about children staying in school longer because it could affect their after school clubs as well. So I want to ask you again, is this decision good for the school or do you need to think back on your actions? I hope you can make the right choice.
Yours Sincerely

Dear Governors,
I am writing to you to convince you that the proposed idea of a longer school day is incredibly wrong and ridiculous. Think about it if we started at 7am we would have a bundled up sleep schedule and we wouldn’t be able to get ready in time for school (which means we wouldn’t preform good enough in school).
Also it won’t just be us having a bad day, it would also be the teachers because they will be in for an extra 5 hours on top of the 7am to 5pm rule – which is a complete madness. Do you think they will enjoy it?
As well as the 7am problems, ending at 5pm is even worse for reasons like: being late for your dinner, being later for a club outside of school and not being able to spend that long with your family and that’s not it I can name many more reasons why ending at 5pm is a very bad idea for schools. Thank you for hopefully reading this and please leave the time tables the same.

Dear Governors,
I was not happy when my mother told me that I was going to be in school at that time as my sleep schedule is incompatible. My work ethic won’t be as good as it should be my family and quality time will not be available. I won’t be able to do the stuff that I want to do like going to see my friends or going on my gaming pc. I will be hungry and I could miss my eating schedule with my family.
Please look at this letter.
